Step 1: Essential Tools to Carry
- Mini flashlight for dark environments.
- Phillips head screwdriver (preferably magnetic).
- 6-inch angled tweezers.
- Can of compressed air.
Step 2: Check for Paper Scraps (Shards)
- Open the printer and remove the ribbon and paper.
- Visually inspect for any paper shards inside.
- Use compressed air to blow out any debris.
- Check the gears and cutter for stuck paper.
Step 3: Inspect the Cutter
- Remove the cutter cover carefully.
- Use a flashlight to check for stuck shards.
- If necessary, operate the printer without the cutter cover.
Step 4: Remove and Inspect the Faceplate
- Remove the screws holding the faceplate.
- Carefully remove the faceplate, ensuring no wires are damaged.
- Inspect the cutting wheel and tracks for obstructions.
Step 5: Reassemble and Test
- Reattach all removed components.
- Ensure power is on before reinserting paper and ribbon.
- Close the printer and test a print job.
