Step 1: Essential Tools to Carry

  • Mini flashlight for dark environments.
  • Phillips head screwdriver (preferably magnetic).
  • 6-inch angled tweezers.
  • Can of compressed air.

Step 2: Check for Paper Scraps (Shards)

  • Open the printer and remove the ribbon and paper.
  • Visually inspect for any paper shards inside.
  • Use compressed air to blow out any debris.
  • Check the gears and cutter for stuck paper.

Step 3: Inspect the Cutter

  • Remove the cutter cover carefully.
  • Use a flashlight to check for stuck shards.
  • If necessary, operate the printer without the cutter cover.

Step 4: Remove and Inspect the Faceplate

  • Remove the screws holding the faceplate.
  • Carefully remove the faceplate, ensuring no wires are damaged.
  • Inspect the cutting wheel and tracks for obstructions.

Step 5: Reassemble and Test

  • Reattach all removed components.
  • Ensure power is on before reinserting paper and ribbon.
  • Close the printer and test a print job.
